Support Staff Substitute - Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in residential settings
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Support individuals in participating in community activities and outings
- Follow individualized care plans and ensure safety and well-being of residents
- Remain active and responsive to scheduling requests from program leadership
- Maintain flexibility to work shifts that may include weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overnight hours
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a caregiving or support role preferred but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to changing schedules
- Reliable and responsive to scheduling requests
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to providing respectful and compassionate support

Qualifications – Licenses / Certifications
Valid driver’s license
Safety Care-QBS Training*
DSP certificated preferred, must obtain DSP certification within 120 days (4 months) of employment.*
Meet all the requirements per DHS Rule 116 to pass medication*
CPR/AED and First Aid Certification must be obtained within 120 days (4 months) of employment*
*Shore will provide training if not obtained at another location.
