Position Overview
Cherry Hills Christian School is seeking a Christ-centered, nurturing, and service-minded Preschool Teacher’s Assistant who will joyfully support our mission to prepare students to live fully for God. The ideal candidate will be relational, dependable, patient, and committed to fostering a safe, loving, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.
This role is vital to the daily operations of the Preschool. The Preschool Teacher’s Assistant provides instructional, relational, and logistical support to the Preschool Teacher and the Director of Preschool. The individual in this role will model the love of Jesus, embody the traits of an ideal team player, and contribute to a unified, mission-aligned community.

Classroom Support & Instructional Assistance
- Assist the Preschool Teacher in facilitating a nurturing, structured learning environment.
- Support implementation of daily lesson plans, classroom activities, and age-appropriate instruction.
- Lead or support small group learning experiences under the teacher’s direction.
- Support positive, developmentally appropriate classroom management strategies.
- Help maintain classroom materials, organization systems, and learning centers.
- Provide hands-on care for students’ needs (tying shoes, toileting support per policy, comforting, encouraging, first aid).
- Assist with supervision during classroom times, transitions, recess, specials, and dismissal.
- Understand and implement all building emergency procedures and state regulations.
Student & Family Care
- Build warm, positive relationships with children and families.
- Maintain a safe, structured classroom environment with high accountability and care.
- Pray for the children and families served.
- Support children with emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and spiritual development.
Communication & Professionalism
- Respond to email, phone, and communication requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain confidentiality with child, family, and staff information.
- Convey information clearly and in partnership with the teacher and Director.
- Build trust with families through grace-filled, consistent communication and conduct.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Assist teachers and administrative staff with day-to-day tasks as needed.
- Help maintain a clean, safe learning environment.
- Support the organization and care of shared preschool and school-age spaces.
- Partner with Cherry Hills Community Church ministries when using shared facilities.
- Uphold and support CHCS policies and procedures.
- Attend required staff meetings, in-service days, and professional development sessions.
- Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to assist with additional tasks.
Commitment to Growth
- Receive and apply training and coaching from the Director of Preschool.
- Demonstrate teachability and receptiveness to feedback.
- Maintain all required certifications and continuing education hours.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and pursue excellence in early childhood education
Position Type: Part-time, Non-exempt
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:15 p.m.–6:00 p.m. (follows school calendar)
Reports To: Director of Preschool
Salary Range: $16.29 - $21.75 / hour

QUALIFICATIONS
- A strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Agreement with and ability to uphold CHCS’s mission, values, and faith statement.
- Ability to meet all state requirements, including:
- Fingerprinting and background check
- Health and immunization requirements
- Completion of Early Childhood coursework (ECE 101 & 102/103 or willingness to complete)
- Required trainings and 15 hours of annual continuing education
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required).
- Physical ability to meet job demands; walking, standing, bending, lifting.
