Western Container Hattiesburg is looking for a full time Parts Room Attendant to join our team and begin unbottling their potential! This is a full time position Monday - Friday with typical hours being 7:30 AM - 4 PM.

The stockroom/ parts attendant performs a variety of physical and administrative tasks to assist the Purchasing Agent in maintaining a neat, orderly and accurate inventory of parts, supplies and materials that are needed for the aspects of plant operations. 


  Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receives all incoming materials, while ensuring processes are followed to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Preforms shipping of goods and handling of returns utilizing a variety of vendors including FedEx, UPS, USPS and international carriers.
  • Assists with monitoring parts room inventory and in performing inventory control functions.
  • Assists with writing stock requisitions and in placing stock and consumable items orders.
  • Ensures cleanliness of Parts Room.
  • Works with Maintenance Personnel to ensure required parts are on hand.
  • Serves as a back-up to Purchasing Agent.
  • Assists with obtaining vendor pricing and availability of requested items.
  • Assists with maintaining GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) including participation in regular audits and inspections of safety and other equipment. 
  • Preforms other related duties as assigned.

Who Are You?

Someone with strong proficiency when it comes to computer skills and typing. Someone with a strong attention to detail and a mind for continuous improvement. You are able to communicate clearly and effectively both written and verbal. . Interested in learning more about manufacturing, P.E.T. plastics. A team player who can also be self-motivated to complete tasks in a high-paced environment. 


Ideally you have a high school diploma or GED or at least three years of related working experience with one employer. You should expect prolonged periods of working on your feet and should be able to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds at a time with assistance. At least one year of related work experience is preferred. Attention to detail and strong organization skills are a must.
