As we continue to scale across Europe, we are seeking a QAQC Manager (France) to join our team and uphold CloudHQ’s industry-leading quality standards on our French construction projects.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The QAQC Manager – France will be responsible for managing and executing CloudHQ’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control program throughout all phases of data centre construction projects within France. Reporting to the QAQC Manager (EMEA), this role ensures technical compliance, repeatability, and standardization across all mechanical, electrical, and civil works.
Acting as a bridge between construction and commissioning teams, the QAQC Manager will drive quality control initiatives, oversee site inspections, and maintain CloudHQ’s commitment to excellence on every build.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Oversight
- Implement CloudHQ’s QA/QC program on French projects, aligning with company-wide quality standards and project-specific requirements.
- Supervise QA/QC professionals and contractors involved in on-site quality activities.
- Apply lessons learned from prior European projects to improve processes and prevent recurring issues.
Site Inspections and Compliance
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits during construction phases, verifying installations against QA/QC procedures and local French and EU construction standards.
- Review and approve MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and CSA (civil, structural, architectural) installations for compliance with technical specifications and performance metrics.
- Ensure quality assurance and testing records are accurately maintained and traceable.
Coordination and Engagement
- Collaborate closely with the QAQC Manager (EMEA), project managers, contractors, and vendors to resolve field quality issues promptly and effectively.
- Provide technical guidance and support to contractor teams, promoting adherence to CloudHQ procedures and industry best practices.
- Communicate regularly with the wider European QAQC organization to share insights, updates, and best practices.
Quality Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly quality reports detailing inspection results, corrective actions, KPIs, and lessons learned.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of QAQC records including site logs, test results, non-conformance reports, and resolution tracking.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyse quality performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Recommend enhancements to QA/QC procedures, tools, and methodologies at both local and regional levels.
- Support the development and implementation of standardized inspection and reporting processes across all French sites.
Commissioning Support
- Work with commissioning teams to ensure seamless project handover, verifying that installation quality meets commissioning and operational readiness standards.
Team Leadership and Travel
- Mentor junior QAQC staff and contractor teams in best practices for inspection, documentation, and compliance.
- Maintain an active presence on job sites across France, with periodic travel to other European locations as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of MEP and CSA systems integral to data centre construction.
- Understanding of electrical UPS systems, switchgear, generators, cooling, and fire suppression systems.
- Experience monitoring installation quality and conducting systematic inspections.
Regulatory and Compliance
- Deep familiarity with French and EU construction standards, health and safety protocols, and local building regulations.
- Ability to ensure regional compliance with CloudHQ’s quality processes across multiple active sites.
Project Management
- Proven experience managing construction QAQC on complex projects involving multiple contractors and vendors.
- Skilled in balancing quality standards with timelines and budgets without compromising safety or performance.
- Proficient in project management and quality tracking tools.
Communication and Problem-Solving
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and issue resolution.
- Effective collaborator with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solver with the ability to manage risks and address challenges swiftly on fast-paced sites.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in construction quality assurance and control, preferably within data centre or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Minimum of 3 or more years in commissioning or facility operations with quality oversight responsibilities.
Technical Knowledge
- Working knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), inspection techniques, and test equipment relevant to MEP systems.
- Familiarity with ISO quality standards and documentation processes used in European construction.
