SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SUMMARY: Designs, specifies, configures, installs, maintains, and coordinates local, remote or cloud storage systems and platforms, networked systems, and monitors data security activities by performing the following duties: 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:


  • Designs, specifies, configures, installs and maintains server software and hardware, and related services such as system software, software applications, DNS, DHCP allocation, printer queues, and other server services.
  • Establishes, maintains, test and reports on the networked system user environments, directories, operation, and security.
  • Responds to the needs and questions of system availability by users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
  • Implements and maintains local and remote data backup procedures. Through co-location, software managed, cloud bases or other and ensures data is backed up according to the policy and schedule.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Cloud services (Entra/Azure) in a hybrid environment.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of disaster recovery procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate company inventory of server hardware and licensing; ensures equipment is current in all applicable patches, updates, connectivity, and security applications. 
  • Manages user accounts and identities inside a Microsoft 365 Environment for access to resources. 
  • Audits and reports on local server and cloud storage systems, user identities, security, compliance, and utilization of these systems to meet company policies and legal requirements.
  • Communicates standards for use, operations, and security of network resources, computers, and associated data in the on-preises and cloud environments.
  • Communicates within Information Technology Team and other departments and offices to report and resolve system related issues proactively to reduce and eliminate operational problems. 
  • Supports and manages endpoint security software including maintaining security policies to reduce the potential for unwarranted threats and vulnerabilities. 
  • Researches, evaluates, and learns new technologies, hardware and software applications and services.
  • Installs, tests, and maintains software upgrades to servers, equipment and related services.
  •  Implements, and monitors management information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures accurate inventory is kept for all server system, hardware, software, licenses, and audits users for compliance with company policy, vendor specifications, and legal requirements.
  • Reviews usage of various systems and peripheral equipment for malfunctions and maintenance to determine costs and impact, and address problems associated with these activities.
  • Supports multiple remote office locations and assist the Information Technology Team with knowledge, support to help facilitate the needs of the users.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or equivalent; or five to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three or more years maintaining and supporting Microsoft 365Copilot Environments, Windows Servers and Directory Services; Experience maintaining, administrating, and supporting Microsoft 365 environments; Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administration Associate preferred; Experience working with centralized management tools; IP networking knowledge.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be a Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate and be willing or working toward additional Microsoft 365 Certification. Must have current driver's license and be able to travel approximately 25% of the time.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual will have computer skills, including knowledge of and the ability to use the internet, email, calendaring software, spreadsheets, database, and word processing software.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid driver license and be able to travel 25% of the time.
