Job Purpose
The Regional Operations Manager reports to the Sr. Regional Operations Manager of Authorizations and Collections and oversees department operations, including team management, workflows, account management, authorizations, and collections. This role supports short- and long-term team goals and develops and engages employees to ensure accountability and excellent internal and external customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate team meetings and collaborate with other departments to improve processes and share ideas.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, supporting the team with escalations, troubleshooting, and research.
- Coach and develop employees through call monitoring, scorecards, job shadowing, observations, and regular one-on-one meetings.
- Support team skill development through training materials, educational sessions, mentoring, and policy/procedure training.
- Oversee hiring, retention, performance management, employee relations, compensation changes, and terminations for direct reports.
- Prepare weekly and ad hoc reports and review key metrics to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Continuously review and streamline processes to improve efficiency and internal and external interactions.
- Partner with Regional Managers to identify revenue growth opportunities through workshops and collaboration.
- Manage escalated payor negotiations, including outstanding balances and lien settlements, while maintaining professional relationships.
- Build and maintain relationships with payors, carriers, adjusters, and nurse case managers through authorizations and collections.
- Educate patients, adjusters, and case managers on the H-Wave home care program and its benefits.
- Stay current on state laws, rules, and regulations for assigned regions and communicate updates to the team.
- Establish and support strategic goals by analyzing business, financial, and operational data and implementing action plans.
- Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Report weekly activity to the Director of Authorizations and Collections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven work experience as an Operations Supervisor (preferred) or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.
- Self-directed with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to execute tasks efficiently and on time.
- Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of office administrative tasks and event planning.
- Team-oriented, with the ability to work and communicate respectfully with other departments.
Physical Requirements
This is a position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. It also may require occasional lifting, carrying, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching above the shoulder.
