The Arc Carroll County, a nonprofit supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead and oversee all financial operations and ensure long-term financial sustainability.
This is a key leadership role reporting to the Executive Director and managing a team of three finance professionals.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee accounting, budgeting, financial planning, and reporting
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
- Analyze departmental profitability and funding sources
- Manage payroll and Paylocity system support
- Lead annual budgeting process and year-end close
- Oversee grants, DDA funding, invoicing, and compliance reporting
- Manage annual external audit
- Prepare tax filings (Sales & Use, 1099s/1096s)
- Monitor internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness
- Supervise and mentor finance staff
- Collaborate with leadership and external partners
Compensation & Benefits:

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably nonprofit
- Strong experience with automated accounting systems and Excel
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to pass background and drug screening
