The Arc Carroll County, a nonprofit supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead and oversee all financial operations and ensure long-term financial sustainability.

This is a key leadership role reporting to the Executive Director and managing a team of three finance professionals.


What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee accounting, budgeting, financial planning, and reporting
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
  • Analyze departmental profitability and funding sources
  • Manage payroll and Paylocity system support
  • Lead annual budgeting process and year-end close
  • Oversee grants, DDA funding, invoicing, and compliance reporting
  • Manage annual external audit
  • Prepare tax filings (Sales & Use, 1099s/1096s)
  • Monitor internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Supervise and mentor finance staff
  • Collaborate with leadership and external partners

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably nonprofit
  • Strong experience with automated accounting systems and Excel
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening
