Porter:          

Cleans and maintains public and employee areas of the property following departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • Prepare for shift by gathering necessary supplies (garbage bags, gloves, chemicals, cleaning tools).
  • Proceed to assigned section and follow daily assignment sheet.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain public restrooms as per assignment sheet.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum floors, and empty trash cans and ashtrays throughout the casino property.
  • Wipe down slot machines and chairs to remove dust, fingerprints, and spills.
  • Ensure all areas of the casino are free of spills, debris, and eating/drinking utensils
  • Clean and maintain outside areas of the casino  
  • Clean glass doors, mirrors, walls, equipment, and furniture inside and outside the building.
  • Clean administrative areas and empty trash according to supervisor instructions and standards.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • 1 year of experience as a Porter in a casino environment preferred

Language Skills:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (speak and read)

Reasoning Ability:

  • Experience working with various chemicals and standard cleaning equipment
  • Ability to maintain a steady work pace to meet department schedules
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
  • Ability to work well with others and independently with minimal supervision
  • Good customer service and employee relations skills

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 75 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to learn and operate heavy-duty equipment
  • Must be able to push and pull heavy-duty equipment
  • Prolonged walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, and kneeling without restriction
  • Ability to tolerate working with chemicals and noise from equipment
  • Ability to work in an environment that is smokey, noisy, loud, and has varying temperatures
