About the opportunity: Project Controls Manager (Capital Project Cost Estimating and Scheduling)

We are currently seeking a full-time Project Controls Manager with expertise in Capital Project Cost Estimating and Scheduling to help us achieve our company's mission. This person will be part of the Project Controls team, which is responsible for determining the cost and value of the projects C&I takes on. C&I is an employee-owned, full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.

Responsibilities include:

• Manages a department of estimators and schedulers, ensuring that deliverables are met. 
• The Project Controls Manager leads their team by developing training, assigning training, providing performance feedback, and identifying performance gaps on the Project Controls team. 
• Participates in the selection, training, promotion, transfer, compensation, and termination of personnel assigned.
• Monitors deliverables created by the project controls department while ensuring accuracy. 
• Prepares and coordinates the development of staffing and operating plans for cost and scheduling activities.
• Defines project needs for cost estimates and schedules in conjunction with Project Managers and in accordance with contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures. Prepares or manages the timely preparation of cost control activities.
• Defines the need for cost control in conjunction with Project Managers and in accordance with contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures.
• Creates and approves project control procedures and plans to be used by C&I staff. 

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as accounting, business, engineering, construction, or related fields with 10 to 15 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of computer programs such as Icarus, Primavera, and Microsoft Project. 
• Must be proficient in  Microsoft software such as Word and Excel.  
• Industry experience in construction, scheduling, estimating, project management or project controls.
• Experience managing teams and developing staff.

Other Preferred Competencies: 

• Proficient in providing strong customer service to clients and project teams.
• Experienced in capital project cost estimating and management.
• Must be able to communicate service to clients and project teams is essential. 
• Must be able to communicate project information to the necessary parties. 
• Collaborate with others to identify schedules, activities, logic, duration, and sequences.
