Job Summary____________________________________________________________________
The Runner provides critical, day-of-show support for touring productions by assisting artists and crew with transportation, errands, customer service, and local logistics. This on-call, event based role works closely with the Programming team to ensure all day-of needs are met efficiently and professionally. The Runner serves as a local resource, operates Overture’s provided vehicle, and maintains exceptional responsiveness and hospitality throughout the shift. 

Shifts are typically 10-12 hours long, so you must be available the entire day and night when picking up a shift. 

Roles & Responsibilities_____________________________________________________________

Transportation

· Drive artists, crew, and VIP personnel between hotels, airports and venues

· Savely operate the Overture vehicle and navigate busy or unfamiliar areas

· Follow check out/check in protocols for the Overture vehicle and record mileage

Errand Running & Logistics

· Order & pick up hospitality items, catering, groceries, equipment, and other rider requests

· Manage receipts and payment verification

Hospitality & Backstage Support

· Recommend local restaurants with specific menus/fare, late hours, etc.

· Assist in stocking dressing rooms, green rooms, and catering areas

· Fulfill any day-of artist needs

Communication & Coordination

· Maintain constant phone availability, coordinate with show contact

· Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications____________________________________________________________________
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Education & Experience:

· Must be at least 21 years of age

· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

· Strong driving skills and ability to operate a large vehicle

· Excellent time management, punctuality, and responsiveness

· Flexibility and ability to adapt to rapidly changing needs

· Strong communication and professional demeanor

· Discretion with sensitive or confidential information

· Problem-solving skills and resourcefulness

· Familiarity with local area or strong ability to use digital navigation tools

· Ability to follow instructions and maintain documentation

· Ability to use digital tools to source local food items and products that can sometimes be difficult to find


Working Conditions

Physical Demands: 

· Sitting for extended periods while driving or waiting on call

· Standing or walking for extended periods during errands

· Lifting/carrying items up to 25-35 lbs.

· Frequent movement in/out of vehicles and through venue spaces

· Ability to work irregular or late-night hours

· Ability to navigate tight parking areas safely

Work Environment: 

· Work is primarily performed in a performing arts center environment with moderate noise and light exposure typical of live show settings

· Frequent movement between indoor and outdoor locations and may be exposed to varying weather conditions while loading, unloading, or completing errands

· Work involves navigating backstage areas, front-of-house spaces, and city locations as needed for tour support

· Frequent interaction with staff, vendors, artists, and other key stakeholders

· Flexibility in hours may be required during special events or other high-demand periods

Travel: This position includes limited local travel.


This hourly rate of pay for this position is $25.00/hr.
