Vineyard Equipment Operator

Join our dynamic team as a Vineyard Equipment Operator, where you will play a vital role in supporting our vineyard operations through skilled operation and maintenance of agricultural machinery. Key Responsibilities:

- Operate small and large tractors, skid steer, and related agricultural implements, efficiently, adhering to all safety and traffic regulations

- Use machinery for pruning, spraying, mowing, and general vineyard maintenance

- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance as well as minor repairs to ensure equipment remains in optimal condition

 - Assist with electrical, hydraulic, and welding repairs as needed  

- Install and maintain vineyard trellis systems

- Collaborate closely with the Vineyard Manager to coordinate use of spray rigs and other equipment, as well as maintenance of equipment

- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of all equipment

- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational standards

- Support the Vineyard Manager as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

- Reliable transportation to and from the vineyard

- Proven experience operating agricultural machinery such as tractors, skid steers, and spray rigs

- Mechanical aptitude with tractors

- Knowledge of hydraulic systems preferred

- Experience with hedgers, trimmers, or mechanical pruners is a plus

- Good visual acuity and manual dexterity; attention to detail

- Muscadine grape experience is a plus but not required

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks

- Requires walking, standing, bending, and working with arms overhead

- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
