Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure is accepting applications for a Mechanic at the Bald Mountain course. The Mechanic reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and is responsible for maintaining the golf course maintenance fleet through a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. This role diagnoses and repairs equipment issues, maintains accurate records of parts and labor, and orders parts and supplies to keep equipment operating safely, reliably, and ready for daily course maintenance operations.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Qualified candidates must be available to work weekdays 6:00am – 2:30pm plus a half day every other weekend (Saturday or Sunday, based on operational needs) and as business needs require.

Essential Job Duties
- Prioritize repair and maintenance work to support daily golf course operations.
- Set up, configure, and modify new equipment as needed.
- Diagnose, repair, and adjust engines and mechanical systems on golf course maintenance equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on golf course maintenance equipment.
- Respond to and complete emergency repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
- Ensure equipment is properly fueled, lubricated, and inspected; maintain safe operating condition.
- Maintain routine, standardized maintenance logs and reports, including parts and labor documentation.
- Support a positive guest experience by maintaining equipment that ensures quality course conditions and by demonstrating professional, service-oriented conduct.
- Stay current on equipment, tools, and best practices relevant to the department and location.
- A minimum of two years proven mechanic experience providing golf course equipment repair and maintenance.
- Must possess willingness to learn and perform new golf maintenance service programs.
- Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, drive and motivation.
- Flexibility with schedule with evenings and weekend work required.
Physical Requirements:
- Communicate effectively with others using clear, professional language (talking and hearing).
- Tolerate extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, including in hot and humid outdoor conditions.
- Occasionally move, lift, carry, push, pull, and position objects weighing up to 75 pounds without assistance.
- Reach above shoulder level and below knee level, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
