General Maintenance Technician

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time - Non-Exempt


Position Summary

The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the RV park’s grounds, buildings, and amenities. This position plays a key role in ensuring guests have a positive, safe, and enjoyable experience. The role involves a variety of maintenance, repair, and landscaping tasks and requires a strong commitment to quality work and customer service.


Key Responsibilities

Grounds & Landscaping

  • Mow lawns, trim trees and shrubs, edge walkways, and maintain flower beds.
  • Rake leaves, remove debris, and keep all outdoor spaces tidy.
  • Maintain and repair irrigation systems where applicable.
  • Ensure RV pads, roads, and common areas are free of hazards.

Facility Maintenance

  • Perform minor repairs to park buildings, restrooms, picnic areas, laundry facilities, and recreational amenities.
  • Conduct basic maintenance on lighting, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Clean and maintain common buildings such as clubhouses, offices, or rental cabins.

Utilities & Systems

  • Monitor and maintain sewer, water, and electrical hookups.
  • Respond promptly to guest-reported utility or maintenance issues.
  • Report larger or complex repairs to management or licensed contractors.

Customer Service

  • Interact courteously and professionally with guests.
  • Provide basic information about park amenities and policies.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and respectfully.







Requirements

General Duties

  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; report restocking needs.
  • Operate and store all equipment safely and in good condition.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or general maintenance preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems is a plus.
  • Ability to operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, stoop, and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Exposure to cleaning agents, chemicals, and physical hazards.
  • The schedule may include weekends or evenings during peak season.
