BBB is seeking an experienced Project Architect with a strong focus on Construction Administration to join our Miami office. This role is ideal for a technically driven architect who thrives in the field, understands complex construction processes, and can effectively lead consultant coordination, owner, and contractor engagement through all phases of construction.
The successful candidate will play a key role in administering construction contracts, ensuring design intent is carried through to execution, resolving technical and constructability issues, and serving as the primary architectural liaison between the client, consultants, and the construction team. Projects will include residential mixed-use, institutional, commercial, and historic building work. This individual must be comfortable working across multiple offices and collaborating virtually with distributed teams in NY and DC.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- 10+ years of professional architectural experience, with significant emphasis on Construction Administration
- Professional degree in Architecture; Registered Architect required (Florida licensure or ability to obtain preferred)
- Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with BIM-based coordination workflows
- Experience with clash detection and coordination tools such as Navisworks, Revizto, or similar
- Proven experience leading CA efforts, including field coordination, owner, and contractor engagement
- Familiarity with City of Miami permitting requirements and coordination with local agencies
- Experience with residential or mixed-use projects
- Thorough understanding of building systems, detailing, and high-rise or complex construction methods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident in client and contractor interactions
- Ability to anticipate technical challenges and proactively manage risk during construction
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring and delegating to junior staff
- Comfortable working across multiple offices and collaborating virtually with distributed teams
- Participate in Business Development and Marketing efforts.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary architectural contact during construction, communicating directly with contractors, consultants, and clients
- Responsible for document production for deliverables, design team coordination, project staffing (with Project Manager), production, and collaboration workflows.
- Guide design direction and establish design goals and priorities with client and Partner input to maintain design intent/integrity throughout the project through visualizations, physical models, specifications, and construction details.
- · Coordinate and manage consultants and internal BBB team; execute coordination meetings, communicate directly with the Project Manager, and keep the team focused on the required tasks.
- Review and process submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, and field reports
- Conduct site visits and construction observations; document progress and identify potential issues early
- Resolve complex technical, code, and constructability challenges in coordination with consultants and the construction team
- Maintain design intent throughout construction while responding efficiently to field conditions
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, envelope, and specialty consultants to resolve conflicts across trades
- Oversee and contribute to the development of construction documents (CDs), with a strong emphasis on clarity, constructability, and coordination
- Perform QA/QC reviews of drawings and specifications for compliance with office standards, Florida Building Code, and local jurisdictional requirements
- Support permitting, inspections, and agency coordination as required
- Mentor junior staff and support team workload planning in collaboration with the Project Manager
- Utilize and guide BIM workflows to support construction coordination and documentation
Compensation
BBB offers fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $90,000-$125,000, with variations based on experience, education, achievements, and business needs. Employees may also receive an annual performance-based bonus and salary increase.
