DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for supervising the Metrology      technical personnel calibrating variety of test instruments for one or      more skill areas, such as:

Ø Electrical Equipment

Ø Dimensional Equipment

Ø Industrial / Mechanical Equipment

Ø Temperature Equipment

Ø RF/Optical Equipment

Calibration Process 

  • Implement      the applicable requirements, customer requirements, QM and CSD.
  • Capable in developing formal plans for      facilities and equipment, personnel training and certification,      measurement standards and traceability.
  • Ability to recognize and address      non-conformances and file Corrective Action Reports.
  • Provide administration in all areas of service      to facilitate both quality and quick turnaround.
  • Capable in conducting workshops and classes      for personnel / technician training.
  • Conducts pre-evaluation and inspections to all      customer equipment such as visual checking, cleaning, functional and      self-testing.
  • Ensures that maintenance, minor repair and      calibration of equipment are carried out and completed based on the set      schedule in accordance with customer specifications and requirements.
  • Communicates the status and proper calibration      updates to the concerned personnel or group on a timely manner; regularly      collaborates with other technicians, CSRs, Sales and Purchasing.
  • Analyzes data, uncertainty computation,      uploading of data and report generation. Ensure that all calibration data is      accurate and sufficient to take into account for complete reproducibility.
  • Ensures compliance to quality standard based      on existing and approved quality procedures. 
  • Ensure      that environmental conditions are adequate for the work performed.
  • Ensure      that the sensitivity of the environmental conditions and accuracy of the      records in the values ??shown are relevant in the calibration      certificates.
  • Ensure      that the version used of the calibration procedure is the most recent and      suitable for the instrument under test.
  • Transport      the instruments (customer and MPC), including reference standards,      reference materials, software and hardware, so that it does not adversely      affect the accuracy of the instrument does not degrade the net value of      the instrument.
  • Notify      the Quality Assurance Manager, the customer, Division Manager and Sales      Manager when an instrument is lost, damaged at any point of the service,      or stolen having it under the protection of MPC.
  • Ensure      that the nomenclature and identification of the instruments is accurate      and complete in CMS assuring it match with instrument identification.
  • Ensure      that calibration certificates contain accurate information and that all      information required by the customer is documented in the report.
  • Verify      reported results, used calibration procedures, approved functions,      reference standards used and identification of traceable patterns for      accuracy and reproducibility.
  • Ensure      the safe handling, use and transport of customer and MPC equipment at all      times during field service work.
  • Seek      supervision and / or assistance from the client to operate and / or      calibrate the client's equipment which is installed, assembled and / or      configured in the operation line.
  • Study      the equipment configuration, the operation process and the safety features of the unit before      calibration, as long as it is part of an assembly of the machine or a      production line.
  • Protects      and completes the necessary documentation related to field work, including the documentation in the      worksheets, field service order form, abuse, misuse and / or      mishandling of instruments and equipment, as well as laptops and computers.
  • Ensure      that the calibration data is accurate and sufficient to allow a complete reproducibility.
  • Participate      or support during accreditation or customer assessment as required.
  • Perform      the activities of qualified technician in calibration and / or repair      according to the list of authorized technical capacity.
  • Technician has the responsibility to stop work      operation any time non-conformity is identify; Reports non-conformity to      immediate superior, Lab Manager, Sales & CSR that was identified      during the pre-evaluation and inspection process.

Other

Lab Manager has the authority and resources needed to carry out their duties, including: 

  • Implementation,      maintenance and improvement of the management system;
  • Identification      of deviations from the management system or from the procedures for      performing laboratory activities;
  • Initiation      of actions to prevent or minimize such deviations;
  • Reporting      to laboratory management on the performance of the management system and      any need for improvement; 
  • Ensuring      the effectiveness of laboratory activities. 
  • Ability to write procedures, train personnel,      capable in managing company instrumentation, good housekeeping skills,      capable in computer database management for company instruments.
  • Responsible for the control of standards      maintenance and intermediate checks of company equipment.
  • Travels regionally or out of the country to      perform field calibration work.
  • Assists in the planning and scheduling of      calibration workload when input is deemed necessary.
  • Coordinates and responds promptly to customer      inquiries and provides technical support and advice as required;      coordination should be supported with factual information. 
  • Maintains accurate records of all activities      and prepares technical reports with recommendation as applicable.
  • Works with the Department in setting general      goals and develops, supports and implements plans to hit identified      targets; recommends improvement to support current operation and related      processes
  • Observes safety precautions and quality      standard in the performance of task and complies with the company      directives and policies; observes proper communication practices and      manages confidentiality of information within and outside the group 
  • If the Lab Manager does not meet Tech 3      Dimensional and Electrical requirements, then there must be another      technician at a Tech 3 Dimensional level that can report to the Lab      Manager.
Requirements

  

The professional qualifications required and the experience necessary to effectively complete the responsibilities of this position.

Education:

- Educational attainment gained from Technical or other related courses, preferably in Metrology, Instrumentation, Electronics or its equivalent.

Training:

- Complete the QMS exams 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 201 and 401 with 70% minimum score.

- ESDC Teamsite Module, to be completed within 3 days of commencing employment.

- System / Software development system / Software modification.

- Qualification and Certification.

- -Basic Trouble Shooting and Repair Techniques.

Work Experience:

- Minimum 7 years of metrology experience and/or years of audit/ quality experience.

- Meets all requirements of either an Electronic or Dimensional Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  • Demonstrates good verbal communication, good written skills
  • Knowledgeable in calibration procedures, computation of uncertainty and computer applications.
  • Must have keen eye for quality and details, basic problem solving techniques. 
  • Familiar with techniques and tools associated with ISO/IEC 17025. 
  • Team player, Trustworthy, Service oriented and can manage priorities. 
  • Ability to drive four-wheel vehicle (w/ valid driver’s license) is an advantage.
