Summary
This position provides essential support to the organization by performing a variety of tasks within the Mail Room and Purchasing Departments. The role ensures timely and accurate handling of mail, supplies, and purchasing activities to maintain smooth operational workflows.
Essential Functions
Mail Room
- Process courier bags to and from branches promptly and accurately.
- Open and sort all incoming mail from the U.S. Post Office under dual control with the Mail Processing Specialist from Electronic Services; distribute accordingly.
- Collect mail from all departments and branches at 1351 Harter Parkway (HQ) at least twice daily.
- Deliver mail and supplies throughout 1351 Harter Parkway as needed.
- Prepare all outgoing mail with correct postage and ensure timely dispatch.
- Process returned mail items and update accounts with “Bad Address” status as appropriate.
- Monitor postage meter and request additional funds when balances are low.
- Maintain accurate mail room logs and reports.
- Assist employees with sending and tracking letters/packages via FedEx.
- Maintain adequate stock of U.S. postal documents (e.g., certified mail slips, priority mail envelopes).
- Answer the door for deliveries and ensure proper handling.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Purchasing
- Fulfill branch and department supply orders and ship through appropriate delivery systems.
- Check in and stock incoming supplies; maintain organized inventory.
- Update and maintain supply inventory tracking sheets.
- Enter branch and department inventory and records retention data into Access.
- Keep supply room and marketing storage areas neat and orderly.
- Prepare purchase orders and regularly negotiate pricing with vendors.
- Assist with upkeep and maintenance of equipment and company vehicles.
- Provide prompt, courteous service to branches and departments.
- Manage all credit accounts assigned under your name and Sierra Central Credit Union responsibly.
- Prepare purchasing reports, analyze trends, and provide forecasts as requested by management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer – 7 to 8 hours per day.

- General office environment: works generally at a desk in a well-lighted, air-conditioned cubicle/office, with moderate noise levels.
Compensation Range
The company anticipates offering an hourly range between $21.15 and $28.63 for this position at the time of hire. This range includes base salary (or hourly wages) and does not include possible overtime for non-exempt employees or any applicable performance-based incentives or commissions.
Annual Merit Increase
Employees are eligible for a discretionary yearly merit-based salary adjustment, based on individual performance and company results.
