The Mechanical Engineer will oversee the design, engineering, manufacturing, and testing of hydraulic, chemical, process and other packaged equipment for the oil & gas, petrochemical, critical infrastructure and renewable industries.

Requirements
  • Oversees the design of packaged equipment such as hydraulic power units, chemical injection units, process / utility packages and large integrated modules in compliance with customer specifications, industry codes / standards and W-Industries’ best practices.
  • Collaborates with sales, manufacturing, design, and discipline engineers to prepare estimates and optimize equipment package design – emphasizing safety, operability, and cost efficiency.
  • Works with in-house design and engineering teams to create process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment 3D models, general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, bill of materials, test procedures and operating manuals with a DFM (Design for Manufacturing) mindset.
  • Evaluate technical specifications and generate project detailed engineering / component selection including evaluation, sizing and selection of pumps, compressors, vessels, valves, instrumentation, etc.
  • Requires the creation of test procedure and operational manuals as well as assisting during testing.
  • Collaborates with Project Management, Manufacturing, HSE and Quality departments to ensure projects are completed safely, on-time and within budget.
  • Collaborates with engineering and design peers to perform technical risk reviews, design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID and other support processes and reviews.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Applied system engineering experience with strong mechanical / process / instrumentation background.
  • Experience with structural design shapes, structural and metallic piping design, fabrication welding, and testing.
  • Experience with instrumentation selection, application, and installation engineering principles.
  • Ability to multitask and support multiple new-build and/or aftermarket projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 2-5 years of experience within Manufacturing or Oil & Gas industries.
