Description

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, oversee, and manage departmental projects, team leaders, and production staff
     
  • Identify and resolve production flow issues; follow up on recuts, andons, missing parts, and other expediting needs
     
  • Lead the Daily Management Board; track issues, drive corrective actions, and ensure root cause resolution
     
  • Ensure daily labor balancing; minimize indirect labor and inefficiencies
     
  • Plan and schedule departmental production to meet or exceed company takt times
     
  • Ensure parts, tools, and materials are available and delivered on time to assigned work cells
     
  • Identify and request tools and shop supplies; submit requests to the Production Manager for approval
     
  • Manage hiring, discipline, performance recognition, and termination of production employees in accordance with company policy
     
  • Maintain a safe, organized work environment; enforce safety standards and 5S practices
     
  • Manage overtime, labor costs, and scrap reduction initiatives
     
  • Ensure product quality; collaborate with the Quality department on check sheets, corrective actions, and root cause analysis
     
  • Coordinate production activities with other shifts to ensure continuity and efficiency
     
  • Maintain accountability for continuous training and development of staff; establish training goals and ensure completion
Requirements

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred
     
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment
     
  • Demonstrated experience managing production flow, labor balancing, and takt time performance
     
  • Strong working knowledge of production planning and scheduling
     
  • Experience leading Daily Management boards and driving root cause analysis and corrective actions
     
  • Proven ability to manage hiring, discipline, performance management, and employee development
     
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, waste reduction, and continuous improvement
     
  • Strong understanding of quality systems and collaboration with Quality teams on corrective actions
     
  • Experience managing labor costs, overtime, and scrap reduction initiatives
     
  • Ability to coordinate operations across multiple shifts
     
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
     
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (ERP systems, spreadsheets, production tracking tools)
     
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities
