The Regulatory & Statistical Reporting Analyst will provide support to the organization’s Compliance team and will be responsible for analyzing insurance rules and regulations and extracting data to ensure the accurate and timely filing of all regulatory and statistical reporting requirements. This position will drive operational execution and continuous improvement of Vault’s Regulatory and Statistical Reporting capabilities, including data coding (i.e., SQL, PL*SQL, Python, etc.) and submission, data accuracy and quality, reporting workflow and Vault’s reporting knowledgebase for all Regulatory & Statistical Reporting. The Analyst will also assist in maintaining an enterprise regulatory reporting assets for all states in which Vault conducts business.
This position will also support other business functions as appropriate and required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Operational Delivery of Regulatory and Statistical reporting:
- Directly deliver and/or coordinate cross-functionally to ensure timely coding & development, QA & UAT and operational delivery of all Regulatory & Statistical Reporting outputs and deliverables. (e.g., MCAS, state DOI data calls, TICO, ISS/ISO statistical filings and event-driven catastrophe reporting).
- Communicate effectively as needed with points of contact at statistical agencies/state insurance deparrments regarding reporting deadlines and content.
- Maintain assigned enterprise regulatory reporting assets, including entries in the enterprise compliance calendar, compliance team emails and support tickets, signoffs, submission evidence and knowledgebase content.
- Effectively and accurately onboard new regulatory and statistical reporting requirements and outputs as and when required.
Quality & Timeliness:
- Ensure submissions are accurate and penalties are avoided. Meet or exceed all mandated deadlines for all Regulatory & Statistical Reporting outputs and deliverables.
- Evaluate the quality of the data being used for all Regulatory & Statistical Reporting outputs and deliverables and follow relevant and appropriate Vault processes to raise awareness of data quality issues discovered.
- Collaborate with other subject matter experts and functional leads in prioritization of data quality issue remediation by providing accurate input (sizing, criticality, business risk and penalty/fines exposure) regarding the impacts of data quality issues on Vault’s Regulatory & Statistical Reporting workflow, outputs and deliverables.
- Ensure completion of any data quality issues prioritized for remediation in support of Regulatory & Statistical Reporting. Accurately identify and diagnose blockers and escalate appropriately where necessary.
Controls & Reconciliation:
- Work cross-functionally to ensure filings reconcile to Finance/Annual Statement records, when applicable, and retain audit-ready artifacts (data lineage, validations, receipts, attestations).
- Thoroughly document all procedures for the extraction of data and the completion of each filing.
- Demonstrate awareness and adherence to relevant Vault internal company policies (data classification, records retention, legal hold mandates).
Change Management:
- Provide comprehensive and accurate input and collaboration in terms of the impact on Vault’s Regulatory & Statistical Reporting capabilities.
- Understand and effectively communicate the impact of changes to Vault’s systems and data supply chain to Regulatory & Statistical Reporting outputs and deliverables.
- Orchestrate necessary changes and updates to all Regulatory & Statistical Reporting assets, and explain impacts of those changes to technology and business stakeholders.
Knowledge Management & Continuous Improvement:
- Maintain proficiency across major data management tools (e.g., SQL, PL*SQL, Python), and Vault systems (Raters, policy admin and claims systems, Enterprise Data Warehouse reporting marts).
- Maintain industry-current knowledge and awareness of all existing and new regulatory reporting requirements.
- Participate, as requested, in, and proactively identify opportunities for, knowledge sharing, cross-training and mentoring team members and stakeholders.
- Help define the strategic roadmap for the continuous improvement of Vault’s Regulatory & Statistical Reporting capabilities.
- Successfully and consistently lead by example in modeling a culture of innovation, collaboration and proactivity.
Requirements include but are not limited to:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience writing and coding SQL/PL*SQL/Python.
- Knowledge of P&C insurance regulatory and statistical reporting requirements preferred (including MCAS, ISS and TICO).
- Demonstrated skills in critical thinking, problem solving and the analysis, interpretation and evaluation of complex information.
- Detailed oriented and the ability to work under deadline pressure.
- Ability to maintain effective collaborative working relationships cross-functionally as well as with key stakeholders and peers.
