Our House, Inc.is seeking to fill the role of Member Benefits Coordinator. This position will manage all federal, state, and local benefits for approximately 150 members of our residential and day programs while maintaining compliance with Social Security, Medicaid, and NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities requirements.

As Member Benefits Coordinator, you will partner with our Representative Payee Accountant to manage members’ benefits from initial onboarding through ongoing maintenance and recertification.

Successful candidates will be highly organized, able to manage their own time, technology friendly, skilled at navigating complex regulatory systems with multiple stakeholders, and driven by our mission to serve people with disabilities.


On a typical day this position will assist the members of our programs by:

•Onboarding new members by collecting required documentation (award letters, portion letters, leases), applying for Representative Payeeship, assessing current benefits, and coordinating with guardians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth transitions.


•Identifying and applying for available benefits and subsidies including housing assistance (SHC, SRAP) and other governmental programs that support member independence and financial stability.


•Managing annual recertification processes for Medicaid, housing subsidies, and other benefit programs, ensuring timely submission of all required documentation to maintain continuous coverage.


•Collaborating with DDD Support Coordinators to facilitate member placement in day programs, residential services, and community supports.


•Working closely with the Representative Payee Accountant to identify and resolve issues which impact benefits or subsidies, including coordination with third-party Representative Payees.


•Monitoring member asset limits and coordinating appropriate spend-down activities to protect SSI eligibility.


•Serving as liaison between members, guardians, program staff, and external agencies to advocate for member needs and coordinate comprehensive support.


•Maintaining accurate records, completing required reporting, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards.


•Providing backup support for Medicaid billing and other administrative functions as needed.

Requirements

Ideal applicants will have:

•Associate's degree and 2+ years’ experience in benefits coordination, social services, or human services.

•Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD/DDD).

•Knowledge of Social Security disability benefits, Medicaid, SNAP, and other governmental

assistance programs.

• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex

documentation requirements.

• Excellent communication skills for working with members, guardians, government agencies,

and interdisciplinary teams.

• Preferred: Experience with NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities programs, housing

subsidies (SHC/SRAP), and/or DDD Medicaid waivers.

• Preferred: Experience with MyEvolv (or similar) billing system.

• Highly Preferred: Working knowledge of Representative Payee programs and familiarity with

SSA and Medicaid policies and procedures.
