Description

Overview:

The Buyer is responsible for acquiring high-quality pre-owned vehicles through trade-ins, private party purchases, and auctions. This role requires sharp negotiation skills, deep market awareness, and a commitment to maintaining an optimal used inventory mix that meets dealership goals.


Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and appraise vehicles accurately and fairly from walk-ins, appointments, and online leads
  • Use KBB ICO and other valuation tools to provide accurate and transparent offers
  • Guide customers through the selling process with clarity and confidence
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and efficiently
  • Coordinate with the Business Office and DMV Clerk to finalize payments and ensure timely customer payouts
  • Maintain detailed records and follow dealership processes
  • Collaborate with sales and management teams to meet acquisition goals
  • Ensure all transactions comply with dealership and legal standards

Requirements

 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in vehicle acquisitions, appraisals, or automotive buying
  • Valid Sales License (required to start)
  • KBB ICO experience — must understand valuation workflows and customer interactions
  • Customer sales experience preferred, not required
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-first approach
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Understanding of dealership paperwork and processes
  • Ability to work closely with the Business Office / DMV Clerk to finalize deals, process paperwork, and ensure customers are paid quickly and accurately
  • Must be available to work weekends — flexible to provide any other day off based on your scheduling needs
