JOB SUMMARY 

Directly supervises and coordinates the activities associated with the Maintenance Department. Responsible for performing and/or      delegating diversified simple-to-complex duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of TTD’s business goals and objectives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Determine schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities, based on priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
  • Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and assess employee safety training requirements to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules. 
  • Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings. 
  • Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts. 
  • Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements. 
  • Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use. 
  • Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
  • Perform skilled repair or maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand or power tools, hydraulic presses or shears, or welding equipment. 
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, or job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers. 
  • Compile operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results. 
  • Ensure effective positive employee relations to motivate employees and to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency. Provides coaching and counseling opportunities to resolve employee related concerns, which may require assistance from Human Resources and/or TTD Leadership.
  • Provide assistance for emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. 
  • Maintain regular preventive maintenance (PM) on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Correspond with vendors as needed relative to maintenance contracts and other required services associated with the day-to-day maintenance operations at TTD. 
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. 
  • Responsible for the people leadership of the maintenance technician team, including supervision, performance management, training, and administration of the maintenance apprenticeship program.
  • Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.
Requirements

  

  • Requires a high school diploma/GED and experience in Industrial Maintenance, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience. 
  • Technical or associate's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of progressive manufacturing experience in the following: hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and industrial skills. PLC experience and HVAC a plus.
  • Preferred experience in a skilled trades supervisory role.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.
  • Understand that you will be required to kneel, squat, lay on your back and other awkward physical movements/positions in order to get a task completed. 
  • Preferred Blueprint reading and experience reading technical manuals.
  • Meet or exceed the job requirements of the job.
  • Identified candidates must be able to work overtime (daily, weekends and holidays).
