Wright Manufacturing, Inc. (WMI), an award winning producer of commercial grade lawn equipment, is looking for committed people to join our Assembly team, assisting in putting together some of the safest, most durable and highest quality lawn equipment in the world.
Shift: 4:00 PM-12:30 AM
Primary duties of Assemblers:
o Participate in job training on procedures, tools, etc., to effectively and safely complete job tasks
o Adhere to following job elements in sequence according to job instructions
o Read and comprehend Engineer Change Orders (ECO) and other quality documents (Torque instructions, etc.)
o Identify improvements to Standard Work and communicate changes to Group Leader or Team Leader
o Operate manufacturing equipment and tools safely and effectively to achieve required results (this can include Cranes & Hoists, Pneumatic Hand Tools, Tape Measure, etc.)
o Read and interpret job instructions and simple measurements
o Maintain organization and cleanliness of workstation
o Support Company culture, Safety and Lean Principles in all aspects of work
o Inspect received and own work for accuracy and quality
o Participate in problem solving and improvement activities and events to continually improve processes
Work Environment:
This job operates in a production, non-climate controlled environment and routinely uses tools such as basic hand tools, pneumatic tools, heavy duty power tools, and commercial manufacturing tools such as cranes and hoists, etc.
Must be able to wear all required safety gear (personal protective equipment) and adhere to safety rules.
Physical Demands
This is largely a physical role requiring work in the standing position and ability to perform the following physical motions unassisted (from ground level to above the head): twist and turn, bend and stoop, push, pull, grab, reach, and lift manufacturing parts up to 50 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis. It also requires regular use of both hands to grip, grab, move, adjust, support, and operate tools and equipment safely in accordance with essential functions, and 20/20 (correctable) vision.
Education and Experience
· High school graduate, GED, or equivalent education
· Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
· Consistent work history and excellent attendance record
Competencies & Qualification Skills
· Dependable – Team Player
· Basic English reading and comprehension to effectively operate and communicate
· Physical strength and stamina to repeatedly, independently and cooperatively handle steel components up to 50 lbs or more, as well as be on your feet 8 hours per day
· Basic Math
· Troubleshooting, problem solving and critical thinking – detail oriented
· Visual acuity – excellent eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
· Time management
· Basic PC skills (typing, e-mail, internet)
· Physical and intellectual capacity to perform all essential duties
