PCT Ebeam and Integration in Davenport, IA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to be on our system integration team. We improve industrial process lines and design and build custom industrial machinery. Our mechanical engineers conceptualize, engineer, design, commission, and troubleshoot mechanically functioning equipment and processes for safe, effective and efficient operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
1. Leads the design, development, and testing of the machine, process or equipment. Must ensure that the machine, process, or equipment meets engineering standards, applicable codes, customer specifications, cost constraints and timelines.
2. Generates conceptual design, and supports mechanical designer in detail design.
3. Maintains schedule, budget and hour requirements per the Project Manager. Follows Project Management plan. Communicates with Project Manager known issues upon discovery.
4. Responsible for recommending and sizing of machine components such as bearings, motors, cylinders, and pumps to allow appropriate control of the machine with consideration to both function and budget.
5. Analyzes designs and modifies industrial processes and machines across a variety of industries.
6. Supports production and external vendors during the fabrication and build processes.
7. Supports sales, project management, and business development as a technical consultant and estimator. Reviews and interprets customer specifications, conceptual designs, and sales agreements.
8. Acts as technical resource for designers, other engineers, customers, manufacturing, service and sales, assisting in addressing and resolving problems, machine power up, and troubleshooting. Work may be done in the field.
9. Participates in training customers, startup and troubleshooting during installation and commissioning.

Education and/or Experience
Education equivalent to a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university and a minimum of one year related experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), 3D Modeling (SolidWorks), CAD/CAM software, Finite Element Analysis and ERP system.
Experience with mechanical equipment components, industrial process equipment and industrial processes. An ability to understand design to cost and design to manufacturability principles. Advanced knowledge of mechanical theory. Ability to interpret drawings and prints.
An understanding and ability to apply company and departmental procedures, project methodology, standard drafting practices and mechanical/industry standards (e.g. ANSI, OSHA).
Project related travel to customer sites is required, including some overseas travel. Ability to obtain a current driver’s license and passport is required.
