Description
The Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring that products meet engineering, quality, and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for performing detailed inspections, maintaining accurate quality records, and identifying nonconformances in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Perform final inspection of completed work orders and incoming inspection of parts or products received from vendors for cosmetic, mechanical, and electrical defects.
- Verify part dimensions using standard hand tools and/or precision measuring equipment.
- Ensure all inspections are recorded accurately in ERP (NetSuite) with complete traceability.
- Generate First Article Inspection documentation per AS9102.
- Generate NCRs for nonconforming parts with complete documentation, photos, and measurement evidence.
- Communicate quality issues to vendors, including providing clear descriptions, data, and support for RMAs or corrective action requests.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, vendor documents, procedure documents, and work instructions as applicable.
- Follow QA/QC procedures within the Eravant server, NetSuite ERP, and other applicable systems.
- Serve as the primary operator for all quality inspection equipment, including programming and operation of the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- Create, update, and optimize CMM programs to support accurate and efficient dimensional inspection.
- Assists with calibrating tools, ESD, or test equipment.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with AS9100/ISO quality standards.
- Adhere to Eravant’s safety, parts handling, and ESD requirements at all times.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of four years of quality inspection experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or related precision manufacturing fields.
- Experience using CMM software, preferably MicroVu InSpec.
- Ability to measure extremely small tolerances (±0.001" or tighter) using micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and CMM.
- Experience reading GD&T symbols common in tight tolerance machined components.
- Understanding of plating processes (gold, silver, chem-film) and related specifications.
- Experience working within ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or ISO/IEC 17025 quality management systems.
- Strong communication skills for reporting issues clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general computer applications.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage priorities effectively.
