Position Summary
Liberation Academy is seeking a dedicated and engaging 5th Grade Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction across all core academic content areas. This hourly position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about student growth, culturally responsive teaching, and fostering a positive, structured learning environment. Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies
- Create a supportive classroom environment that promotes academic achievement, positive behavior, and social-emotional growth
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and use data to inform instruction
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress
- Communicate regularly and professionally with students, families, and school staff
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support school-wide goals and initiatives
- Uphold Liberation Academy’s mission, values, and expectations for professionalism
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Education or related field preferred)
- Valid teaching certification or eligibility preferred (requirements may vary)
- Experience teaching upper elementary grades, particularly 5th grade, strongly preferred
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to teach multiple subject areas effectively
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and high expectations for all students
Schedule & Compensation
- Hourly position with hours determined by the school schedule (capped at 30 hours/week); eligible for overtime.
- Compensation is hourly and commensurate with experience (up $30/Hour)
