The successful candidate for the position of System Administrator (Security & Support) is a professional with technical skills and is passionate about providing exceptional support to end users while maintaining a strong focus on system security. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver reliable IT support for hardware, software, and network-related issues. In addition, the position includes secondary duties related to managing and monitoring the company’s cyber security requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with users to solve IT related issues such as printer and other minor hardware issues. Resetting passwords and general problem solving.
- Heavy IT Work - help with printer, computer, and portable device installations. Get involved with larger projects when needed. Not afraid to crawl under a desk.
- VoIP system management, including IP Phones, and mobile devices.
- Have a basic understanding of Cyber security requirements.
- Monitor and Maintain Cyber Security requirements.
- Desktop and device patch management.
- Manage user and server backups.
- Occasional nights, weekends and overnight travel may be required.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills.
- The ability to multi-task and determine which projects or tasks need to take precedence over others at a moment’s notice.
- Basic Networking. Understand switches and routers.
- Understanding VoIP and telecommunication systems, including IP phones and mobile devices like iOS and Android.
- Experience with on premises servers and cloud services such as Microsoft 365 and other SaaS platforms.
- Strong understanding of network security.
- Familiar with SIEM, EDR and MDR tools.
- Understanding common cyber threats, vulnerabilities and attack vectors.
- Knowledge of data protection regulations.
- Excel skills – Basic understanding of Excel so you can help users, update spread sheets and track data.
- PC Hardware structure.
- SQL Server DB maintenance as well as query scripting a plus.
- Visual Basic or other scripting language experience a plus.
- Install Multi Factor Authenticators on your personal mobile device.
Knowledge and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity or other computer related technologies or relevant experience.
- Ability to read, speak, and write in the English language as the primary means of communication with coworkers.
