The Gund Company Canada has an immediate opening for a full-time Composites Operator I to join our team!


Shift:  First Shift - 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday 

Hourly Wage:  Starting at $24.00 

Work Location: Fergus, Ontario (Canada)

Job Summary Composites Operator I

 

As a Composites Operator I, you will play a key role in supporting production operations, ensuring that parts are fabricated to meet work order specifications and customer requirements. This includes setting up and operating machinery that pultrudes raw materials into forms and shapes, monitoring the equipment and materials are kept stocked, as well as adhering to safety, cleanliness and quality standards. 


Key Responsibilities Composites Operator I

  • Form shapes of materials using various manufacturing equipment
  • Select and install machine components, such as dies, spacers, shims and/or stops according to specifications, using hand tools and measuring devices
  • Package and/or skid finished materials as per work order instructions
  • Record and maintain production data
  • Clean dies and molds, using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads or air hoses
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications CNC Machine Operator I Required: 

  • High School Diploma or GED with prior hands-on, vocational, or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools is an asset
  • Strong basic math skills and the ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints and technical drawings

Work Environment CNC Machine Operator I

  • This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
  • The position may involve repetitive tasks and manual labour, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift to 40 pounds and perform manual tasks as required.
