The AVP, Government Banking Officer is responsible for maintaining and increasing Government Banking deposit accounts and services. This position will focus on identifying, developing, and growing business relationships between municipalities and the Bank and will require extensive travel to and from customer sites across the state.
Essential Functions

- Solicits banking relationships from prospective municipalities with a focus on core deposit products and services.
- Serves as the primary relationship manager for assigned municipal customers to maintain and expand deposit relationships.
- Promotes the Bank’s visibility and brand by attending various networking events and actively participating in Treasurer, Collector, and Finance Officer association meetings to build relationships with customers and prospects.
- Remains abreast of Federal, State and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the position; complies with laws, regulations and Bank policies and procedures.
- Works closely with internal partners to ensure the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers.
- Actively participates in other Bank committees as requested.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
The pay range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 per year and is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This position will require travel to and from customer sites, approximately 75% of the time.

- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in Government Finance, Government Banking, Cash Management, or Business Development in a financial services organization.
- Thorough knowledge of municipal banking products and services.
- Strong sales skills in a fast-paced environment, adheres to Bank’s sales process and techniques.
- Strong Relationship Management, networking, and business development skills.
- Effective oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications; Ability to learn and master the Bank’s required systems/applications, as needed.
