Field Service Technician

Lawn Doctor’s Field Service Technicians are the backbone and face of our operation. In this role, you’ll provide expert lawn, tree & shrub, and outdoor pest control services that help homeowners enjoy their outdoor spaces.

Your Responsibilities 

• Apply lawn care, tree & shrub, and/or outdoor pest control treatments with precision and care
• Diagnose lawn and property issues such as disease, insect damage, and turf stress
• Communicate clearly with customers, offering expert recommendations
• Maintain accurate service records using a mobile device 
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Deliver a professional service experience that builds long-term customer trust and loyalty  

Your Skills & Experience 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical outdoor work 
• Ability to walk, stand, and work outside for extended periods
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle for extended periods
• Comfortable using a mobile device and applications
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail 

Nice to Haves (Not Required) 

• Experience in lawn care, landscaping, pest control, or labor roles 
• Knowledge of plant health or turf management 
• Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator’s License ($1,500 signing bonus) 

Licensing 

This role requires employees to obtain a Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator’s License after training, but you do not need one to apply. We provide: 

• Paid training 
• Exam coordination
• Coverage of exam costs (up to two attempts) 

This makes the Field Service Technician role ideal for candidates of all experience levels. 

Compensation

• $20.00-$23.00 per hour for candidates without a MA Pesticide Applicator’s License and new to the lawn care industry 
• $22.00-$30.00 per hour for candidates with a MA Pesticide Applicator’s License, based on skills, experience, and certifications 
• Eligible for weekly production bonuses 
• Lucrative year-end bonus based on individual and company performance 
• $1,500.00 signing bonus for technicians who already hold a MA Pesticide Applicator’s License 

Work Schedule

• Full-time position, Monday through Friday
• Overtime opportunities available 
• Some Saturday work required during peak seasons (spring & fall)
