Senior Project Manager
Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the pre-construction, contracting and construction execution of all utility scale projects assigned to the department. This role helps oversee the EPC selection process, manages the contract execution phase, and ultimately manages the construction of the project from NTP through project closeout. In addition to the directly assigned projects, this role will support the structure and personnel development of the department, in addition to the departmental project scheduling efforts.


Key Job Responsibilities

  

  • Responsible for scope, schedule and budget of assigned construction projects, to include intake and handover to operations.
  • Responsible for managing the onsite construction through field resources and regular site visits.
  • Responsible for managing IE/Financing processes of project construction execution. 
  • Responsible for departmental reporting both internally and externally.
  • Responsible for all utility coordination and communications.
  • Manages the scheduling efforts.
  • Assists with departmental development initiatives. 
  • Assists with the departmental development and training of personnel.
  • Assists development initiatives to include Landowner management.
  • Assists with EPC RFPs for near-term construction projects. 
  • Assists with drafting SOWs for different scopes of the construction phase.
  • Helps manage EPC contract negotiations.
  • Communicates and manages risk for full project life cycle. 
  • Other Duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or Construction Management (or applicable experience)


Experience

  • 7-10 years of construction project management experience is required
  • 2 years of solar project management experience is required
  • 2 years managing direct reports


Other Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 (or equivalent)
  • Experience with Smartsheets
  • Experience with Procore construction management software
  • Experience any in prior leadership roles is preferred

The Project Manager may be required to endure the following physical activities, environmental conditions, and physical demands:

  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces,
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods,
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another,
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions,
  • Communicating with others to exchange information,
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, and
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
