The Plant Manager oversees all daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
As a Plant Manager, you will:
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop plant staff, creating a culture of accountability, integrity, respect, and teamwork.
- Manage recruitment, retention, evaluation, and training of shop employees.
- Build strong relationships with employees and promote unity by collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Production & Operations Management
- Oversee all plant operations, including production, maintenance, and quality control, to ensure efficient workflows.
- Meet production schedules with daily tasks completed on time, in full, and to the highest quality standards.
- Implement policies for inventory control, equipment maintenance, and fleet operation.
- Increase operational efficiency by improving processes and reducing waste.
- Develop, implement, and manage safety policies to promote a safety-first culture
- Planning & Performance Metrics
- Develop the plant budget and manage operations within financial targets.
- Set goals through long- and short-term planning, aligned with the company's annual optimization plan.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, costs, and safety.
- Analyze production reports and other metrics to improve operations.
- Customer & Quality Focus
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and exceed customer expectations.
- Address product troubleshooting in the field as needed.
- Maintain open communication with departments like sales, logistics, and engineering to align operations with customer needs.
Required Education, Experience & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 7+ years in manufacturing operations with at least 3 years in a management role (for a manager). Supervisory experience considered for a lower-level position.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
