Description

Community School of Naples (CSN) is currently seeking a talented, collaborative, and motivated Middle School Spanish teacher starting on August 10, 2026. 


This role offers the opportunity to work in a proficiency-based environment where focus on student-created communication of language is built through a well-articulated curriculum. Community School of Naples has state-of-the-art language learning resources to support teaching and learning, thus engaging students as enthusiastic learners. Through CSN's Global Exchange Program, CSN is intent on getting its faculty and students out of the classroom and into the world to authentically use their language skills, and multiple opportunities for faculty to serve as overseas chaperones are available each year. Teaching responsibilities will include 5 sections of Spanish. Other responsibilities include serving as an advisor to a group of students and supervising duties.


CSN is one of the top independent schools in southwest Florida and maintains a PK3-12 school enrollment of over 1000 students. CSN has a high retention rate with many dedicated teachers here for longer than 10 years; some more than 30. Our students track higher than all other southwest Florida schools in test scores, extracurricular activities, and college acceptances. The school’s beautiful 77-acre campus features lush landscaping, ponds, and an open atmosphere.



Requirements
  • Native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written Spanish.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Spanish (master’s degree preferred), with a strong academic background. 
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Spanish at the middle school level. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct instruction in the target language at least 90% of the time and design proficiency-based assessments that measure students’ real world language use and skill development.
  • Comfortable integrating instructional technology and digital resources to enhance student engagement and language development.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development and to effective, research-based instructional practices, including the use of authentic resources, purposeful lesson design, contextualized grammar and vocabulary instruction and student reflection, among others to support language growth. 


Physical Demands/ Ability to

  • Lift/ carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Sit at a desk while working on the computer. 
  • Bend, twist, kneel, stoop, climb, crouch, balance on a regular basis. 
  • Detect and exchange accurate information. 
  • Have close visual acuity to perform essential functions of the job. 
  • Withstand outside weather conditions. 
  • Withstand a moderate noise level in the work environment.
