We are looking for a bilingual (English/Spanish) Intake Specialist to be the first point of contact for our patients. This role is vital in ensuring that every patient receives a professional, empathetic, and smooth experience from the moment they reach out to us. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients—answering calls, returning voicemails, and responding to emails with professionalism and empathy
- Review and process new patient referrals, verifying documentation and ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Schedule and confirm appointments, coordinating with providers and staff for efficient clinic flow
- Provide patients with information on clinic policies, services, and appointment preparation in both English and Spanish
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system (Athenahealth)
- Communicate clearly with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care
- Handle medical records requests, ensuring proper documentation and release in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Uphold Epic Pain Management’s standards of professionalism, privacy, and compassionate patient care
Qualifications & Requirements
- Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience: Prior experience in a medical office, patient intake, or front-desk role is required
- EHR Proficiency: Familiarity with Athenahealth preferred
- Knowledge: Understanding of medical terminology, insurance verification, and patient registration processes
