We are looking for a bilingual (English/Spanish) Intake Specialist to be the first point of contact for our patients. This role is vital in ensuring that every patient receives a professional, empathetic, and smooth experience from the moment they reach out to us. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, personable, and passionate about creating positive first impressions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients—answering calls, returning voicemails, and responding to emails with professionalism and empathy
  • Review and process new patient referrals, verifying documentation and ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, coordinating with providers and staff for efficient clinic flow
  • Provide patients with information on clinic policies, services, and appointment preparation in both English and Spanish
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system (Athenahealth)
  • Communicate clearly with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care
  • Handle medical records requests, ensuring proper documentation and release in compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Uphold Epic Pain Management’s standards of professionalism, privacy, and compassionate patient care
Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience: Prior experience in a medical office, patient intake, or front-desk role is required
  • EHR Proficiency: Familiarity with Athenahealth preferred
  • Knowledge: Understanding of medical terminology, insurance verification, and patient registration processes

Salary Description
$18-21/hr
