SUMMARY: The Radiologic Technologist (X-ray technologist, X-ray tech) is responsible for performing all radiology services and other basic clinical duties as assigned. In addition, they ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive environment while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, front office and clinical staff.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties are subject to accommodation in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Complete provider orders per state and provider regulations
- Perform accurate X-rays as ordered by the provider while practicing radiation safety precautions to include ALARA.
- Prepare and transmit images to the radiologist for over-read and report over-read results to providers.
- Retrieve and archive radiographic reports.
- Create/Burn CDs in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform detailed and accurate data collection during clinical intake of patients to include taking and recording vital signs and patient history.
- Assist patients as needed with walking, transfer, specimen collection, exam prep, etc.
- Complete occupational health testing including such services as urine drug screens, and physicals.
- Complete patient referrals and patient callbacks daily
- Proper, concise, and complete EMR documentation and paper-based documentation for all assessments and procedures
- Other basic clinical duties as assigned such as new models of care and new types of procedures, etc.

- Follow instructions from Physicians regarding which area of the patient’s body needs imaging.
- Talk the patient through the procedure and answer questions to lower their anxiety.
- Correctly position the patient, adjust the imaging equipment to the specified position
- Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient.
- Follow correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding.
- Keep good patient records.
- Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and placing orders
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Other basic clinical duties as assigned such as new models of care and new types of procedures, etc.
· 1+ years of clinical experience in related field
· Urgent care experience
· Bilingual in Spanish preferred
· Comfortable working independently without the support of another radiologic technologist
· Experience performing all standard radiographic studies on pediatric and geriatric patients
· Experience with computed and digital radiography
· Experience with taking patient vitals
· Experience performing lab specimen collection
· Experience performing point of care testing (i.e. rapid strep, rapid flu, COVID and urinalysis)
