Location: Community-based hybrid role. Work is primarily conducted in the community across the assigned territory, including schools and partner sites, with additional time working from a home office and regularly from the Hickory, NC, service center for collaboration, meetings, and training. Local travel is a core part of the role.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an energetic Engagement Manager to drive our mission by recruiting and retaining girl and adult members within an assigned geographic territory. As an Engagement Manager, you are the face of Girl Scouts in your community—fostering partnerships, supporting volunteers, and ensuring every girl has the opportunity to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Growth: Develop and implement year-round strategies to exceed membership targets for girls and adult volunteers.
- Community Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with schools, businesses, and community centers to increase awareness and engagement.
- Volunteer Support & Retention: Recruit, onboard, and train new troop leaders, providing coaching to ensure a high-quality, sustainable first-year experience.
- Service Unit Management: Support and empower local Service Unit volunteers (community volunteers) to lead recruitment and retain existing members.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Track, analyze, and report on membership leads, trends, and progress toward goals using CRM systems (Salesforce).
- Training: Deliver new volunteer onboarding and orientation, both in-person and virtually.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
- Experience and Education: The ideal person for the role will have experience in membership development, recruitment, community organizing, or a similar sales model. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or Non-Profit Management are encouraged to apply. - Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including frequent evenings and weekends.
- Transportation: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
