Job Title: Early Childhood Intervention Specialist

Bay Area Rehabilitation Center’s Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Intervention Specialist to join our team. As an Early Childhood Intervention Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support and services for children aged birth to 36 months with developmental delays, disabilities, or qualifying medical conditions. Providers deliver family-centered, coaching-based interventions in the child's natural environments—homes, daycare, or community settings. 

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Family-Centered Coaching
    • Engage families as decision-makers and primary teachers. 
    • Use the five-step coaching cycle: joint planning, observation, action/practice, reflection, feedback. 
    • Embed intervention strategies within child and family daily routines (meals, play, bedtime).
  • Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration
    • Participate in comprehensive needs assessments and IFSPs with OT, PT, SLP, EIS, social workers, etc. 
    • Conduct co-visits and team consults for coordinated service delivery.  
  • Natural Environment Service Delivery
    • Provide individualized services in homes, childcare centers, or community settings; adapt to each family's unique context. 
    • Promote generalization across family members, caregivers, and daily routines.
  • Assessment, IFSP Development & Documentation  
    • Conduct evaluation using state-approved tools to determine eligibility and family priorities. 
    • Develop participation-based IFSP outcomes and service plans, ensuring compliance with TX ECI standards. 
    • Timely documentation per ECI Compliance Guide (e.g., service notes within program-defined timelines). 
  • Care Coordination & Equity
    • Assist families in connecting with community and  medical resources; ensure equitable, culturally responsive, and       trauma-informed services. 
  • Professional Development
    • Complete Texas EIS credentialing (if applicable) via the IPDP process within one year. 
    • Participate in ongoing training, reflective supervision, and quality improvement activities.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

- Certified EIS, per Texas Part C. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in early childhood development or a related field.

- Experience using family-centered coaching in natural environments, within interdisciplinary teams.

- Strong skills in empathetic communication, collaboration, and reflective listening.

- Proficient in accurate and timely documentation in electronic systems.

- Valid TX driver’s license and reliable local travel access.


Preferred Qualifications

- 1–3 years in Texas ECI or related early intervention work.

- Training in routines-based intervention or reflective coaching models.

- Bilingual (e.g., English/Spanish).

- Familiarity with Texas IFSP procedures, co-visits, and trauma-informed best practices.

Physical Requirements 

- Regular local travel; home/child care/community settings required.

- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, lift pediatric equipment or toys.
