Central Service and Supply Tech
Description

Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a full time Central Service & Supply Tech at our Layton locations. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Stock Central Supply rooms
  • Prepare various items to be sterilized
  • Clean, package, sterilize, and distribute instruments
  • Clean and stock procedure rooms each week as needed
  • Unload supplies from the dock area and distribute to the proper locations
  • Collect biohazardous waste and package for disposal 
  • Collect linen bags
  • Process receiving of product against purchase orders ensuring proper quantity and quality of product
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received
  • Maintain a detailed delivery log of all incoming packages and identifying all packages that require refrigeration
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.


Requirements:

  • Six months Central Supply work experience preferred 
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds unassisted 
  • Must be able to be on feet for entire shift including walking, pulling, pushing, twisting, lifting, and walking up and down stairs
  • Basic computer knowledge 
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Organized, detail oriented, and professional
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job


Performance Requirements:

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical supplies, and organizational services.

Skills:

  • Adequate hearing to answer phone.

Abilities:

  • Ability to use multi-line phone system, including transferring calls and paging.
  • Ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard by callers.


Equipment Operated:

  • Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.     


Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced, behind-the-scenes environment focused on sterilizing, distributing, and maintaining medical supplies and equipment


Mental/Physical Requirements:

  • Involves sitting approximately <10 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
