Description

Position Summary: 

The Graphic Design Specialist at Rock Church is a creative, highly motivated professional responsible for designing visual assets that enhance the Sunday Service experience and for creating interior design elements and signage for the church’s physical environment. Under the direction of the Lead Content Creator, this role includes developing eye-catching graphics for Sunday Service, such as sermon slides, LEDs, promotional materials, websites, and digital displays, and creating cohesive design concepts for interior spaces and signage. The Graphic Design Specialist collaborates closely with the communications and creative teams to ensure all designs align with Rock Church’s mission and branding. This individual is passionate about digital, print, and environmental design, ensuring an engaging and welcoming experience for the church community. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Graphic Design: 

• Create engaging visual assets for Sunday Services, including sermon look/slides, worship graphics, and promotional materials. 

• Design digital displays and other visuals to enhance the worship experience across multiple platforms (screens, social media, etc.). 

• Prepare print-ready and digital files for all Sunday Service assets, signage, and environmental graphics, ensuring high-quality output and accuracy in execution. 

Environment and Signage: 

• Develop creative and cohesive design concepts for interior spaces, ensuring the environment reflects the church’s mission and aesthetic. 

• Develop temporary or permanent installations for events, holidays, or special themes. 

• Design and produce clear, visually appealing signage for wayfinding, events, and special initiatives within the church. 

Website Wireframes: 

• Design website wireframes, ensuring a user-friendly layout that aligns with the church’s branding and content strategy. 

• Collaborate with web developers to ensure the wireframes translate into functional, visually appealing web pages. 

Creative Input and Ideation:

• Work closely with Lead Content Creator and ministry teams to understand project requirements and ensure alignment with Rock Church’s branding and messaging. 

• Collaborate with teams to ensure consistent brand identity across all touchpoints. 

• Contribute creative ideas for Sunday Service visuals, church branding, and environmental design that engage the congregation and enhance the church's identity. 

• Stay updated on design trends to keep the church's visual elements fresh and contemporary. 

• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and assets are delivered on time for services and events. 

Brand Consistency: 

• Ensure all visual designs align with Rock Church’s brand guidelines and contribute to a consistent, cohesive look across digital, print, and physical environments.

Requirements

Job-related Qualifications: 


Education: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or related field, or equivalent experience. 


Experience: 

• 3-5 years of experience in graphic design. 

• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in digital and print design, and visual storytelling. 

• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)

•  Understanding of the Canva platform. Mainly to create templates for ministries and church campuses to use.

• Have an understanding of video, web design, UI/UX, and social media. 

• Experience in a church, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization is a plus. 


Organizational and Spiritual Requirements: 

• Demonstrate Christ-centered behavior at all times by treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity. 

• Utilize the principles of Matthew 18 and Ephesians 4:15 to resolve differences of opinion with others. 

• Successful completion of a thorough pre-employment references and background checks, which includes: social security verification, Local, State & Federal criminal conviction records search, national security database, and sex offender registry. 

• Attendance at all mandatory meetings and events. This includes serving at Good Friday, Easter, and Christmas services as well as the annual volunteer appreciation event. 

• Member of Rock Church (or willing to transfer membership to Rock Church). 

• Regular involvement in Rock Church activities, ministries, and events. 

• Tithe 10% to Rock Church. 

• Signed acknowledgment of the Rock’s Statement of Faith. 

• Ability to interpret and adhere to the Rock’s policies, procedures, and employee handbook. 

• Be self-motivated and goal-oriented, use good judgment, and be flexible and innovative. • Professional attitude and demeanor. 


Physical Requirements:
