Description

Kennelwood Pet Resorts is looking for a Dog Trainer to be a part of a growing industry leader pet care business. This role will be able to help create long term relationships and transform the lives of the clients and pets they are working with to train!



Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Train dogs of various breeds and temperaments to achieve client expectations.
  • Reply to training inquiries that come in from varies sources including in person, phone and email.
  • Self-generate training leads from existing Kennelwood clients and from the community.
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral networks like veterinarians, rescue organizations and breeders.
  • Conduct training evaluations to assess the needs of the client and pet. Recommend training programs and align client expectations.
  • Properly clean and sanitize training areas and equipment to help ensure the health of the pets in the training program.
  • Conduct regular client lessons to provide updates and to teach them how to enforce the training.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Certificate of completion from a reputable dog training school or equivalent experience.
  • Familiar with training methods utilizing a balanced approach.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to instruct clients in a one-on-one or small group format.
  • Must be a self-starter and take initiative.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs on occasion
  • Ability to walk dogs of all sizes on leashes
  • Comfortable working around pet hair and dander
  • A passion for animals
