Requirements

The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the administration, coordination, and execution of warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of physical assets and client records. This role requires experienced knowledge of warehouse processes, material handling equipment (MHE), inventory control, and security procedures to ensure efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and protection of assets. The Warehouse Specialist plays a key role in maintaining operational accuracy, space utilization, and workflow efficiency within the warehouse. 

  • Administer and execute daily warehouse operations, including receiving, auditing, storing, moving, and shipping physical assets and materials.
  • Oversee the accurate receipt of goods into the warehouse by verifying documentation, quantities, and condition of materials.
  • Maintain accountability for all assets within warehouse facilities through inventory tracking, cycle counts, audits, and reporting.
  • Operate material handling equipment (MHE), including pallet jacks/ PPT trucks, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate and prepare shipping and receiving schedules to control the flow of goods and optimize warehouse space utilization.
  • Ensure materials are properly palletized, shrink-wrapped, labeled, and stored according to established procedures.
  • Support the secure handling, movement, and storage of client records and confidential materials in compliance with physical security and data protection guidelines.
  • Prepare shipments and deliveries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and professional handling.
  • Monitor warehouse cleanliness, organization, equipment condition, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist in identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
  • Perform mail sorting and internal distribution as required.
  • Support training or guidance of less experienced warehouse staff as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 1–4 years of warehouse, shipping, receiving, or logistics experience required.
  • Proven experience operating material handling equipment, including pallet jacks/ PPT trucks.
  • Experience with inventory management systems, record management systems, or warehouse tracking software.
  • Valid Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to meet background, security, or clearance requirements as required by contract.

Additional Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and shipping and receiving procedures.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping and material handling.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet operational deadlines.
  • Effective communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, security, customer service, and operational excellence.
