Accounts Payable and Grant Accountant- Hybrid
Description

 This position provides general accounting, budgeting and administrative functions, including grant reporting and compliance 

Requirements

 

Responsibilities: (to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation):

1. Operates within the DuPagePads Core Values, which supports providing care in accordance with the Trauma Informed Policy and Practices of the Agency.

2. Maintain accounts payable system; process all agency bills, expense reports and check request; produce payments to vendors

3. Process credit card receipts from staff; reconcile receipts to statements maintaining audit policies producing payments and or entries to accounting system

4. Adhere to office policies; maintain audit recommendations; assist with preparation of annual audit

5. Prepare monthly budget reports for program leadership

6. Assist in preparation of budgets for grant applications and budget reports for grant monitoring and compliance

7. Track grant spending, prepare monthly billing for program activities to funding sources and monitor collection of billings

8. Monitor interrelationships of grant funding sources and grant matching fund requirements.

9. Complete month-end journal entries to record financial activity

10. Coordinate information for compliance audits and assist with preparation of year-end agency financial audit.

11. Other duties as assigned.

3. Ability to monitor expenditures and maintain data

4. Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to details and deadlines.

5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.

6. Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills with a high degree of analytical ability.

7. Good written and oral communication skills.

8. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

9. Demonstrated ability to relate positively to staff and peers outside the agency.

10. Strong problem-solving skills.

11. Ability to work well independently; self-directed and internally motivated.


Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.

2. Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred

3. At least three years of experience in a financial accounting position.

4. Working knowledge of fund accounting principles pertinent to nonprofit setting a plus.

5. Non-profit or Government grant reporting experience a plus.
