Elementary Minister
Description

Job Summary:

The Elementary Minister will lead and oversee Elementary Ministry/Elementary staff on and off-site as needed.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervisor to Elementary Staff.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the Elementary Ministry.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations of the Elementary team with Kids Pastor.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and lead elementary staff/volunteers.
  • Resource and encourage elementary leaders and volunteers.
  • Plan and promote weekly/yearly Elementary events through Connect Group Ministry.
  • Enlist and manage Sunday morning and Wednesday night volunteers for K-5th grade.
  • Ensure all elementary volunteers and staff have passed background checks and agree to the mission, vision, expectations, and GABC Kids Ministry policies.
  • Must be available to work a flex schedule encompassing Wednesday nights, Sunday morning services, as well as special ministry events throughout the year.
  • Work with Kids Pastor in developing and implementing plans for volunteer recruitment, training, retention, and coordination of summer programming including, but not limited to, VBS, Kids Camp, Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, special events, and other activities as needed.
  • Perform ministerial duties such as, but not limited to, hospital visits, school lunches, and meeting with families.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling on and off-site as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Be an active member of Green Acres Baptist Church.
  • Understand and fulfill the mission and vision of Green Acres Baptist Church.
  • Ability to listen effectively and to communicate clearly to supervisor, team members, children, and their parents/caregivers.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Strong organizational skills; detail oriented.
  • Have a high commitment to moral and ethical standards, striving in all actions to be pure of heart, mind, word, and deed.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen as well as criminal and sexual misconduct background checks.

Education and Experience:

  • High school degree required; college degree preferred.


Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 25 pounds at a time.
  • The ability to work on site in the Green Acres offices.
