Salary Range: $95,000–$130,000

Reports To: VP Strategic Initiatives

Location: Burlington, VT — In Person with remote flexibility

About the Role

The Fund Operations Manager serves as the operational backbone of The Fund at Hula and is responsible for coordinating accurate, timely, and consistent fund operations, investment diligence and funding, financial and compliance processes, portfolio tracking, and reporting. The Fund Operations Manager will report directly to the VP of Strategic Initiatives, and will have access to enjoy training and support from an expert compliance resource throughout the onboarding process.  The role also interfaces regularly with external accountants, legal counsel, and other fund service providers. This position is well-suited for an experienced fund operations professional who can own day-to-day execution while operating within established governance and compliance frameworks.

Core Responsibilities

Fund Operations Execution:

  • Support day-to-day operations for Funds I, II, and III
  • Coordinate capital calls and distributions, including notice preparation and investor activity tracking
  • Maintain fund-level cash flow tracking and operational records
  • Manage fund documentation, including LPAs, subscription documents, side letters, and amendments
  • Support accounting, tax, and LP diligence by organizing materials and responding to data requests

Compliance & Reporting Support:

  • Serve as the primary operational coordination point with Director of Compliance on compliance and reporting
  • Prepare and organize operational inputs for quarterly and annual LP reports, regulatory filings, and investor data requests
  • Track compliance and reporting deadlines across funds and partnerships
  • Maintain accurate portfolio data, including capital deployed, ownership positions, valuation inputs, and LP- or partner-required performance and impact metrics
  • Support transaction execution by coordinating closing checklists and post-closing documentation
  • Ensure portfolio data consistency across internal systems and third-party platforms

Investment & Deal Execution:

  • Be the first level of investment diligence, identify and assess new investment opportunities, field inbound pitches, conduct preliminary reviews, develop investment memos, and present opportunities to the VP Strategic Initiatives for fund consideration.
  • Manage the closing investment process in collaboration with legal counsel, banks, financial institutions, finance team, and internal stakeholders through funding and paperwork. 
  • Represent The Fund at Hula at events, partnership meetings, and ecosystem activities.
Requirements

 

Desired Skills, Mindsets & Experience

Required:

  • 3-6+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, fund administration, startup operations, finance, or legal operations.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong follow-through, project management tact, self-starter mentality, and organizational skillsets.
  • Experience handling financial records, investment documents, and sensitive information.
  • Professional communication skills; comfortable engaging with investors, founders, partners, and LPs.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Excel formulas, and CRM tools.

Preferred:

  • Experience with investment evaluation, diligence, or deal execution.
  • Understanding of VC fund structures and portfolio reporting.
  • Familiarity with Carta or cap table systems.
