Gilbert Christian Schools is searching for an exceptional Technoloty Teache (K-8) The Technology Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering age-appropriate technology instruction for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, integrating digital literacy, computational thinking, and responsible technology use within a Christ-centered educational environment. The teacher supports the school’s mission by modeling Christian character and helping students use technology in ways that honor God and serve others.

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Plan and teach technology classes for K–8 students, aligned with school standards and age-appropriate benchmarks.
  • Teach foundational technology skills, including:
  • Keyboarding and basic computer operations
  • Digital citizenship and online safety
  • Research and information literacy
  • Coding, robotics, or computational thinking (as applicable)
  • Productivity tools (documents, presentations, spreadsheets)
  • Integrate technology with classroom learning and support cross-curricular projects.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

Classroom & Student Management

  • Maintain a structured, engaging, and safe learning environment.
  • Teach and reinforce responsible and ethical technology use.
  • Supervise students during technology class and ensure appropriate care of equipment.

Collaboration & Support

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support instructional technology integration.
  • Provide guidance and support for students and teachers in using educational technology tools.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and expectations.
  • Technology Stewardship
  • Help maintain and organize technology resources (devices, labs, software).
  • Report technical issues and assist with basic troubleshooting as assigned.
  • Promote proper use and care of school technology resources.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
  • Maintain accurate lesson plans, assessments, and student records.
  • Follow all school policies, procedures, and child safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Technology, or a related field (required or preferred, depending on school requirements).
  • Teaching experience with elementary and/or middle school students preferred.
  • Knowledge of educational technology tools and platforms.
  • Commitment to Christian education and ministry.
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
