Primary purpose: Provide project management on major federal government contracts as the main point of contact for clients and leading project staff. Lead planning and management of projects. Achieve project objectives and deliverables by driving the scope, team, schedule, budget, and quality aspects of a project under Lantana’s high-performance standards.
A successful candidate will do the following:
- Understand and document client requirements to align with project scope, objectives, and deliverables
- Define, execute, and manage the project-management plan, including schedule, budget, resources, quality, communications, and risks
- Manage project resources and task execution to keep work aligned with timelines and priorities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the project team and a trusted advisor to clients, and maintain clear and consistent communication
- Ensure overall project direction aligns with client objectives and adapt plans as needed to address changes
- Work with the project team to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their effect
- Recommend and implement process improvements
- Oversee planning and execution of project scope, goals, and deliverables
- Plan, schedule, and track project timelines, including preparing agendas, materials, and documentation
- Communicate project status, decisions, and issues effectively with clients, project owners, and team members
- Identify opportunities for growth within the contract and support proposal or new-work efforts
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, technology, or a closely related discipline
- At least nine years of relevant industry experience in project management
- Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management Institute
- Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) Certification from Scrum Alliance
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
- Demonstrated experience managing federal contracts, preferably supporting CMS, CDC, or other HHS agencies
- Ability to manage a variety of project types, including complex software-engineering and technical-implementation efforts
- Experience managing contract budget types (CPFF, T&M, FFP preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information to diverse stakeholders
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, including reviewing, processing, and tracking information accurately
- Proven ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative, team-oriented environment with federal partners and other contractors
- Ability to manage and lead diverse, distributed teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while adapting to changing requirements
- Ability to successfully complete and obtain a Level 5 Public Trust background investigation, meeting all eligibility criteria and maintaining the required clearance throughout employment
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience managing consulting services projects in Health IT/Informatics, public-health informatics, healthcare, or another technical-standards domain
- Experience supporting national surveillance, reporting, or quality-measurement programs in public health or healthcare
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) vendors and understanding EHR workflows, data exchange, and implementation considerations
- Experience working with technical SMEs, developers, and data analysts to track progress, dependencies, and risks
- Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®)
