The Evergreen School, an independent school serving highly capable students in preschool through 8th grade, is currently accepting applications for a DEIB Program Manager.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Evergreen School is seeking a collaborative, student-centered DEIB Program Manager to work in close partnership with the Director of Diversity and Community Engagement. This role is integral to advancing the school’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through direct instruction, curriculum development, student support, and faculty collaboration across Early Childhood, Primary, and Upper Divisions.
Reporting to the Director of Diversity and Community Engagement, the DEIB Program Manager serves as a thought partner and collaborative leader within the DEIB Office, supporting the design, implementation, and documentation of developmentally appropriate DEIB curriculum and programming. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable co-leading lessons with faculty, facilitating student affinity spaces, and supporting students through identity development and social justice learning. This individual approaches the work with humility, curiosity, and a deep commitment to relationship-building.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Instruction, Curriculum, and Student Engagement
- Co-develop, revise, and implement the scope and sequence of the DEIB curriculum across divisions in alignment with Evergreen’s mission, grade-level Social Justice standards, and Washington State Health Standards.
- Co-lead DEIB lessons in classrooms across divisions, collaborating with faculty to align lessons with classroom units and developmental goals.
- Document all DEIB units and lessons in Atlas (curriculum management platform), ensuring clarity, consistency, and long-term sustainability of curriculum materials.
- Serve as a resource for classroom teachers by providing DEIB-related materials, guidance, and instructional support upon request.
- Attend grade-level team meetings as needed for planning purposes.
- Lead student affinity groups and serve as a resource and coach for faculty who facilitate these spaces.
- Support students as needed in partnership with counselors, advisors, division heads, and the Director of Diversity and Community Engagement.
- Program Development and Schoolwide Initiatives
- Support the planning, coordination, and logistics of Evergreen’s annual Social Justice Day for both Primary and Upper Divisions.
- Collaborate with faculty to plan and facilitate MLK Day and Black History Month assemblies for Primary and Upper Divisions.
- Support and chaperone students attending local and regional diversity-focused conferences and events.
- Maintain and update internal and external JEDI Google Sites with relevant DEIB resources, curriculum materials, and community-facing content.
- Collaboration, Communication and Partnership
- Work in close partnership with the Director of Diversity and Community Engagement to ensure alignment, integrity, and shared vision across the DEIB Office.
- Attend Division and Section meetings as needed and communicate key themes, needs, and opportunities for DEIB and report back to the Director of Diversity and Community Engagement.
- Handle sensitive student, family, and faculty matters with discretion and confidentiality, while maintaining appropriate transparency and alignment within the DEIB Office.
- Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in relevant school meetings, professional development, and community events.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Lead and/or co-lead DEIB workshops for faculty and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in education, social justice, human development, or a related field; relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Experience supporting or leading diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives preferred.
- Experience working with early childhood through middle school-aged students.
- Experience developing and delivering curriculum preferred.
- Experience working in independent schools or similarly mission-driven educational environments preferred

Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds in connection with job duties such as assisting with classroom setup or moving materials.
- Ability to stand, sit, and move comfortably throughout classrooms and school hallways for extended periods.
- Ability to climb stairs, navigate uneven surfaces, and escort students as needed between locations within and outside school buildings.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including inclement weather.
- Evening and weekend work may be required at times
Position Details:
This is an exempt, 1.0 FTE full-time, benefits-eligible position beginning in August 2026. This position follows a 10-month work schedule while paid over 12 months. The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on degree(s) and years of experience.
