This is a part-time position reporting to the Youth Development Coordinator. The Y-Time Lead oversees the daily operations of the Y-Time program and potential Kids Night Out programming, including staff supervision and scheduling.
In collaboration with the Youth Development Coordinator, this role ensures a safe, enriching, and developmentally appropriate experience for all participants while fostering a welcoming environment that supports the well-being and engagement of every child.
Program Overview
- Age Groups: Primarily ages 1-8 (up to age 12 for select programs)
- Program Types: Y-Time and Kids Night Out
- Weekly Hours: Up to 23 hours per week
Schedule & Commitment
- Monday - Thursday: 9:15 AM - 11:45 AM and 5:15 PM - 7:15 PM
- Friday & Saturday: 9:15 AM - 11:45 AM
- Schedule may vary based on program needs
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, is required
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of Y-Time and Kids Night Out programs
- Supervise, support, and help schedule program staff
- Engage children in a safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate environment
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
- Ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and structured program environment
- Maintain accurate attendance records and program rosters
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized program space

- Demonstrate reliability and flexibility with scheduling
- Model YMCA values and mission in all interactions
- Follow organizational policies and procedures
- Physically able to lead activities and lift up to 25 lbs
- Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Previous experience working with youth and families preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Must pass YMCA background check
- Complete required training within 30 days of hire
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
