Position Summary:

This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit to strengthen the community. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the CEO and Directors to promote healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development. Serves as a role model for staff, participants, and the community. Develops, implements, promotes, and runs all program, membership, and facilities operations in adherence to licensing requirements, policies, and standards. 
  • Collaborates with the CEO on strategic planning to create and leads staff and volunteers in the creation and execution of campaigns, programs, and/or curriculum for the advancement of the YMCA. Builds, supports, and promotes strategies to grow through philanthropy, membership, development, and key programs. Provides the highest level of customer service while ensuring safety, licensing requirements, and the YMCAs reputation. Serves on committees and task forces. Adheres to all policies and standards. 
  • Works with the CEO and Finance department to develop and implement financial and organizational strategies, procedures, and responsible budgets. Provides monthly feedback for any material budget variances. Creates and evaluates action plans in response to monthly financial reports to ensure revenue targets are met and expenses controlled. Manages grants and deliverables. 
  • Participates in YMCA fundraising efforts, including the annual fundraisers, to support mission-based programs. Works with Directors in applying for grant opportunities and manages grant deliverables.

  • Participates in YMCA events to promote strengthening community relations. Supports, leads, and motivates all departments in delivering the YMCA's programs and services. 
  • Leads staff and/or volunteer recruitment, communication, development, and management. Grows and develops cause-driven leaders through a culture of accountability and professional development opportunities. Coaches staff to be role models and provides overall direction for growth, budgeting, and retention. 
  • Oversees staff and volunteers to ensure operations are safe and clean at all times. Continually assesses and updates policies and procedures to align them to current operations, priorities, and standards. 
  • Oversees the department’s administrative tasks including processing registrations, collections, and optimizing program capacity. 
  • Ensures departments have up-to-date handbooks detailing operating procedures and safety protocols and staff are aware of and adhering to them. Oversees the YMCA's Emergency Action Plan (EAP), ensuring it is maintained and known by staff. 
  • Proactively builds effective, authentic relationships with staff, volunteers, participants, and community partners and connects them to the YMCA. 
  • As a Mandated Reporter, recognizes signs of abuse or neglect and reports to supervisor and the appropriate authorities.

  • Work is performed at a community campus that serves all people. 
  • Work is occasionally stressful and requires ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and successfully cope with the pressures which are related to the position. 
  • The campus facility is open early mornings, evenings, and weekends and the job may require attendance outside of regular business hours (9am – 5pm). 
  • The noise level is generally low to moderate. 


Essential Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in a related field. 
  • Excellent leadership skills. 
  • Team player, with superb interpersonal skills. An ability to partner with co-workers and work with the public in a positive and friendly manner and resolve conflicts as needed. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, lead others, work independently, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment. 
  • General computer skills with the ability to effectively learn and use new software. 
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with access to personal vehicle preferred.
  • MRTQ certifications within 30 days of hire 


Essential Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or the equivalent in education and closely related work experience.

Salary Description
$80,000-$85,000 annualized
