Join Our Team at Orchard-Rite Orchard-Rite, Ltd., a leading manufacturer of frost protection wind machines and tree shakers for orchards, vineyards, and nut harvest since 1967, is seeking a talented, hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Union Gap, Washington.

Located in the heart of agricultural country, we design and build durable, innovative equipment that protects crops worldwide and helps growers harvest more efficiently. This is a fast-paced, "get-it-done" environment where you'll enjoy tremendous variety — from 3D modeling and custom fixture design to robotics, rapid prototyping, and direct shop-floor fabrication. Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks
• Design CNC machining fixtures, weld fixtures, and custom production tooling for our wind machines and tree shakers
• Design and program robotic systems for automation and material handling
• Lead rapid prototyping from concept through build, testing, and iteration
• Perform hands-on fabrication using mills, lathes, waterjet, laser cutter, CNC press brakes, TIG/MIG welding, plasma cutting, and other equipment
• Program and optimize in-house "smart" tooling and automated systems
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, assembly, and other teams to troubleshoot, refine processes, and implement creative solutions in a dynamic production setting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 2–5 years of relevant experience preferred, but not required — we welcome motivated candidates with strong hands-on skills and a passion for manufacturing
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and design
• Practical experience with machining, welding (TIG/MIG), and fabrication techniques
• Familiarity with robotics programming and automation systems
• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities and the drive to work independently in a fast-moving environment
• Strong communication skills for documenting designs and team collaboration
